(Rush Too Far by Abbi Glines)

Hi everybody!! My name is Sara and my blog is The world of Sam. Now, I'm the advocate of Rush from Too Far series and more recently, from Rush Too Far by Abbi Glinnes. OMG!! I'm completely in love whit Rush, he is one of my beloved book boyfriends.
This has been an incredible journey and we are now in the final.

What can I say about Rush?
I'll let some of their fans say it for me:

"... His personality is dark, hard, aggressive and intense. Gets upset easily and if you do not know from one moment to another fan will bite how angry he is about something you said ... and you do not know what 's. Ensures that has "a lot of baggage" and therefore can not be with him, but that does not stop you wish with all your forces innocent Blaire. should stay away, but it and its evolution in relation to, a throughout the book, I found very good, letting us see how it changes and how about Blaire tries to love, but knows that could hurt the. at the end of the book ... well, I must say that almost dragged me by Finlay " -Scarlet

"Then we have Rush Finlay, handsome, charming and partying son of a rocker who lives as he likes, without rules, always doing what you want. A kind of bad guy that will put you all hormones revolutionized" -Patricia

"Rush, sinfully hot HOT HOT HOT and just ah-mazing. Love you boy!" -Akanksha❤ Søren

"Rush was just absolutely delicious. With silver eyes, tattoos and a tongue piercing, I pretty much just oozed sex appeal. Add That to his cocky yet charming, hot / cold, mysterious, man-whoring bad-boy attitude, and how protective I've got more of the Blaire I fell for her and you've really got quite the recipe for yum. I just love that kind of character. Makes my heart flutter every time. " -Aestas Book Blog

and those are just a few reviews from the thousands of fans who love him, because well, all padesemos a serious and profound case of #RushCrush

Although definitely my favorite thing about her lovely eyes remain and fails to describe Blair's:

"They Were an odd color. Stunningly unusual. They were not brown. Hazel They were not. They Were With Some Color to warm silver laced through them.'d Never seen anything like them."

"Those eyes of his were incredible. The thick black lashes framed them That Looked almost like eyeliner.'ve Had an all-Natural highlighter around his eyes"

If you still have doubts to vote for Rush, just think it's not just a guy who is fucking sexy (or like we said in Colombia PAPASITO LOL!), intelligent, tender, loving, protective but is also supremely talented. That's right, he will Blair wrote a song for your wedding!

It's so romantic!

But if you still have doubts Abbi explain them with this video because they vote for Rush:

(Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire)

Hey, crushers! It's Kelli from Seeking Book Boyfriends again! I'm back to persuade you ONE FINAL TIME to get your votes for the best BBF, Travis Maddox!!
I've stated my case before, and this time I think I need more than words to help. You can check out my previous post that includes his quotes, and how others feel about him.
I am going to throw some facts out there, just in case you are hesitating.
  • Beautiful Disaster was published in May 2011. This book basically launched what is now considered the "New Adult" category in the literary world.
  • Walking Disaster debuted at #1 on the New York Times Best Sellers list. That is EPIC, and proves just how many women loved Travis and wanted MORE.
  • Without Travis, most of these other crushes wouldn't exist. He's the ORIGINAL new adult bad boy, and trailblazed the way for all who have followed.
  • He put underground fighters on the map! He was the FIRST and in my opinion, still the best!

You still don't think the original deserves to be champion this year??? Let me show you some people who do:

That's a lot of love and support!! We believe he earned the title back in 2011, before this tourney was created. Now, we need your help showing the book reading world it's true. Three years. Millions of copies of books sold. Thousands of women in love with Travis Maddox.
So, VOTE. Click that circle that says, "Travis".
Submit your vote because there is no other male character deserving the title this year.

Guest in The Alley--Corinne DeMaagd

Welcome Corinne DeMaagd to the Alley!

Both Sides of the NA coin

As both a writer and editor of New Adult romance, I am particularly interested in the future of this genre. It was practically genius who devised New Adult. I love that the age range is vast, from 18 – 26, because growing into who you are as an adult takes time. It doesn’t happen overnight, or within the halls of a high school, and some mature faster than others. Personally, I dawdled—bad. It took me, like forever, to figure out who I was, what I believed, what was important to me without letting outside influences alter my path. Looking back, I think I was a complete and utter eejit those years. Where was my head? In my heart, most likely. But that’s okay, and an often explored meme in New Adult.

I’m first and foremost an Editor, then an author. Editing is my job and I love it. I’m not being modest when I say that I am a better Editor than I am a writer. Writing and editing are different disciplines. One uses the right side of the brain; one uses the left. As an editor, I work with parameters and rules, including grammar and construction. I work within the laws of the language and guidelines set by my house. I evaluate a book’s development as if it were a puzzle, rearrange content, if needed, for it all to fit. As an author, I develop settings and plot lines, create loveable, iconic characters, and devise witty, realistic dialogue. From nothing. From thin air. Poof! Okay, maybe with help from a glass of wine and 80s love songs. Everyone has their muse.

I am a Content & Acquisitions Editor with Lyrical Press, a romance imprint of Kensington Publishing out of New York. In the last year, we have seen a large increase in New Adult submissions. As a new genre, it is still growing, and that means writers are expanding into new territories with New Adult. Lately, I’ve received some great NA subs, including time-travel, historical, and fairytale. New Adult writers are dipping into other subgenres, which I am pleased to see. The possibilities are endless. Perhaps a NA sci-fi? Or even better, NA dystopian? I’ve got an idea for that one myself. Or why not New Adult erotic romance? Who’s to say a college chic can’t have an erotic journey of discovery with a hunky grad student on a summer archeological dig? Tent + middle of nowhere = no one will hear them scream.

Maybe NA is becoming more popular for its first mature love combined with youthful fantasy and silly mistakes. Young adults face profound life choices and powerful emotion. Parfait them with great sexual content, and you can’t help but have a winner. The best YA stories make me so effin’ excited when they first kiss, I could cry. Then I want more. How many YA stories did you think to yourself – God, I just wish they could get it on?

That’s where NA comes in. New Adult doesn’t have to be red hot, but it can include the characters’ sexual exploration side of their relationships. My series is low in heat, but I reckon if I knew then what I know now, I would have written them a bit sexier. New Adult sales are stronger with higher heat levels. And fair enough. How many young twenty-somethings do you know who aren’t having sex? Sometimes copious amounts! Don’t mistake edgy and angsty with sexy. They don’t have to go together like tweedle-dee and tweedle-dum. There is nothing wrong with a lighthearted storyline with lots of great sex. You can have a strong storyline that integrates sex into the character or relationship development, without the need for uber-drama.

What I am trying to say, is that whatever way you choose to write your New Adult novel, this genre currently has the most potential for new and different. The possibilities are endless.

NA Alley members interested in publication with Kensington Publishing’s Lyrical Press line may submit directly. Believe in your story and send it to me.
Or, I’d be more than honored if you wanted to check out my own NA series, Love Where You Roam.

Happy Writing!

About Corinne:

Having traveled and lived all over the world, Cd Brennan now talks with a strange accent, a mix of distant terminology, a blend of culturally cute but confusing euphemisms that leaves everyone looking at her with a blank stare. Luckily, her Australian husband (who she met in Ireland) and her two Aussie/Yankee sons have no problem understanding her – well, except for the word NO.
Now settled back “home” in Michigan, she enjoys reliving her glory days by writing about them. She considers the last fifteen years abroad the perfect research for her Love Where You Roam series; matchmaking women and men from different cultures, even different hemispheres, helping them find their true one across oceans of difference.
As destiny plays a hand in all the stories, Cd Brennan truly believes that what is for you, won’t pass you by. She hopes to inspire others to get out there: “Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” [Mark Twain]  And of course, fall in love.

(Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire)

Team Trav
Hello, everyone! My name is Kelli, and I am reporting for advocate duty from the fabulous blog, Seeking Book Boyfriends! I have the supreme honor of representing my Book Husband, the one and only, TRAVIS MADDOX!! I am ecstatic that I was chosen for the task!
By now, EVERYONE should have met this crush, but if not --- he's the underground fighter and leading man of Beautiful DisasterWalking Disaster and A Beautiful Wedding by Jamie McGuire. My goals are to prove to all my fellow readers that Travis is THE #1 book boyfriend and get him that NA Crush championship title he deserves!
Why should I vote for Travis? What makes him worthy?
Let's start with the most obvious part, his looks:
See that guy over there? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~> colton arrowThat. Is. Him. PERFECTION.
"My eyes traveled upward; jeans spattered with blood, a set of finely chiseled abs, a bare, tattooed chest drenched in sweat, and finally, a pair of warm, brown eyes."
"Lean muscles stretched under his tattooed skin..."
"He oozed sex and rebelliousness with his buzzed brown hair and tattooed forearms..."
Oh! And don't let me forget to mention his dimple, which adds even more to his beautiful smile. Le sigh! A gorgeous face and a killer body? SIGN ME UP!
Looks aren't everything. I know this. Thankfully, Travis is more than a pretty face and hot body! Let's move on to his PERSONALITY.
Yes, I think it's safe to say Travis is a bad boy. He's dubbed Eastern University's Walking One Night Stand for a reason. BUT - don't let that fool you! Behind his cocky persona lies a sensitive guy who cares about his friends and family. He's also fiercely protective of those he loves, especially once he falls head over ass for Abby Abernathy.
Though he had a rough childhood, he still loves his brothers and dad. The loss of his mother at the age of 3 altered his outlook on life. Growing up the youngest of four mean brothers prepared him to be an underground fighter. Plus, his reputation around campus makes him untouchable. And that temper! He gets physical with people (during fights, and for those who threaten Abby), but I feel it shows his protective nature. It's also how he deals with his feelings. Between you and me, I like a guy with some passion or a slight temper. Someone who is always agreeable is BO-RING! I need something more in my BBFs. But he has a sweet side, too. He cooks Abby dinner, buys her favorite foods, gets her a puppy for her birthday, but most importantly, HE CHANGES HIS ENTIRE LIFESTYLE for her.
"I knew the second I met you that there was something about you I needed. Turns out it wasn't something about you at all. It was just you."
Suh-woon! Are you guys getting it yet?
What else could there be?
  • Travis isn't a dumb jock. He's so intelligent that he doesn't have to study and pulls straight A's!
  • He rides a motorcycle. Yep. A Harley Night Rod, to be exact.
  • He threw Abby a surprise birthday party, and then held her hair back as she was sick from drinking too much. Then, he slept with her on the bathroom floor all night, just so she wouldn't be alone.
  • He tattooed her nickname on his wrist.
  • Travis stayed in a burning building in order to seek out Abby and rescue her.
  • He took a spontaneous trip to Las Vegas in order to make Abby his wife. While still in college.
Still not convinced? Let's hear about Travis in the words of others. His cousin, Shepley:
"I don't know what's going on with you and Travis, but I know that he's going to do something stupid to piss you off. It's a tic he has. He doesn't get close to anyone very often, and for whatever reason he's let you in. But you have to overlook his demons. It's the only way he'll know... If you'll climb over the wall."
Abby's best friend, America:
"I know for a fact that if you looked Travis in the eye and told him you wanted him, he would never look at another woman again."
From his mother:
"Of all my boys, Travis is the most tender hearted. He is also the strongest. He will love you with everything he has for as long as you let him."
"If Travis is anything like his father, and I know that he is, he's a deep ocean of fragility, protected by a thick wall of swear words and feigned indifference. A Maddox boy will take you all the way to the edge, but if you go with him, he'll follow you anywhere."
"And when a Maddox boy falls in love, he loves forever."
And then, from the woman who stole his heart, Abby:
"This whole thing might play out to be a completely wonderful, beautiful disaster, but I want that if it's with you."
"You, Travis Maddox, are kinda sexy when you're not being a whore."
"In another life, I could love you."
"It wasn't just me, and it wasn't just him, it was what we were together that was the exception."

Misunderstood by many, but loved by far more, Travis is indisputably the BEST book boyfriend to come along in years. He doesn't realize his own worth, which only adds to my affections for him:
"I know you deserve better than me. You think I don't know that? But if there was any woman made me for me... it's you. I'll do whatever I have to do, Pidge. Do you hear me? I'll do anything."
"You need to walk away, Pidge. God knows I can't walk away from you."
"I never once convinced myself that I was good enough for you."
The man breaks my heart! He's possessive, and good hearted and will go to the ends of the Earth in order to make Abby happy.
"I need to hear you say it. I need to know you're mine."
He laid his feelings on the line, publicly, in order to win her over:
"To douchebags!" he said, gesturing to Brad. "And to girls that break your heart," he bowed his head to me. His eyes lost focus. "And to the absolute fucking horror of losing your best friend because you were stupid enough to fall in love with her."
Abby Abernathy is the luckiest fictional woman, and readers worldwide agree that they'd even be Megan for a day just to get a shot at Travis.

I'm pretty sure I've made a great case for Travis! Just in case you're still on the fence and debating voting against him, here's a video I made - a mock movie trailer for Beautiful Disaster, featuring Colton Haynes as Travis Maddox. Just imagine if Travis made it to the big screen!

So, that's it! I hope you're convinced that there is no better BBF than Travis Maddox. Please make sure to vote, and get all your friends to vote, as well! If you want to help further, join our Facebook group HERE.
And don't forget to use #TeamTravisMaddox and #NACrushTourney on Twitter and Facebook to show your support! But most importantly - VOTE!

(Rule by Jay Crownover)

Hello everyone! My name is Christina Marie of LuLo Fangirl and I am here to advocate for my favorite bad boy and Marked Man, Rule Archer. Rule is definitely one of my all-time favorite book boyfriends and I am here to help you see why you want to come over to the Marked side

This is the guy your parents warned you about, but you always dreamed of. Rule Archer is the bad boy we all want

Rule is not the pretty boy next door that you take home to your parents and if you are looking for that, you have picked the wrong guy. Rule is definitely a unique guy. Hes not your typical book boyfriend. What makes Rule wonderful and desired by every woman he comes across is that he looks all bad ass on the outside but his inside is full of beautiful things. He is a straight forward, extremely loyal, fights for what he wants and loves, and does not care what people think of him kind of guy. He is moody and arrogant and so stubborn that it is ridiculous. But thats what we love about him.

Rule is so busy protecting his heart and everyone around him (which includes a bunch of rowdy, tattooed hotties with hearts of gold) that it creates brooding moodiness and lots of anguish until he realizes that Shaw, the girl thats always been there, is his heart.

Rule is tattooed to the hilt and pierced in all the right places, if you know what I mean *wink, wink*. He has beautiful icy blue eyes that can melt the coldest of hearts. And with always changing hair and the sexy confidence, he is sure to make your head turn.

I think its genetically impossible not to be kind of in love with him at first sight, when you come equipped with a vagina. Its just something about all the angst, moody swagger he has, that makes you want to cuddle up with him and make him feel better.

Rule takes beauty to a whole new level. He is so beautiful to the eyes that all the expressions on his skin only add to his beautifulness. He marked skin tells a whole other story that lets you into the beautiful soul of Rule Archer.

We all want beautiful men but RULE is so much more than a pretty face. Rule makes life exciting and when you are loved by him, there is no doubt in your heart that you belong to him and he belongs to you. He loves with a fiery passion. Rule sees no other one than the love of his life in Shaw. She came into his world and  changed his black and white world to a rainbow of color.

Heres my heart, Shaw. You have it in your hands and I promise youre the first and last person to ever touch it. You need to be careful with it because its more fragile than ever thought and if you try and give it back Im not taking it. I dont know enough about love to know for sure thats what this between us is, but I know that for me its you and only you from here on out and I can only promise to be careful and not push you away again. Life without you in it is doable, but if I have a choice I want to do it with you by my side and Im telling you Im not running away from the work it takes to make that happen. Shaw, Im not scared of us anymore.

You have to promise not to bail on me when I get lost, Shaw. You have to promise to just wait it out until I can find my way back. I need to know youre at the end of the tunnel when everything goes black.

Rule Archer is simply a sexy, attractive, and absolutely fabulous Marked Man and the ULTIMATE book boyfriend in my opinion. I hope you enjoy him as much as I do. If so, PLEASE VOTE RULE ARCHER! #TeamRule for the WIN!

I guarantee you, youll never be the same once youve been touched by Rule. Welcome to the Marked side… enjoy your stay.

(Rush Too Far by Abbi Glines)

Hi everybody!! My name is Sara and my blog is The world of Sam. Now, I'm the advocate of Rush from Too far series and more recently, from Rush too far by Abbi Glinnes. OMG!! I completely in love whit Rush, he is one of my beloved book boyfrinds.

Do you know him? Maybe a picture help...

And if the answer is still NO, let me introducing him

First of all, let's start with the physical, and if I just have to describe him in three words, would be:

Just imagine this combination: Bad boy, tatoos, amazing abs, a sexy voice, lips that are totally made for kissing, but my personal favorite are his eyes.

Like Blair says:

"They were an odd color. Stunningly unusual. They weren't brown. They weren't hazel. They were a warm color with some silver laced through them. I'd never seen anything like them."

"Those eyes of his were incredible. The thick black lashes that framed them almost looked like eyeliner. He had an all-natural highlighter around his eyes"

Nothing more sexy than a guy with a beautiful and expressive eyes, only imagine that he look at you with desire or better yet, with love? I'm probably dead of a heart attack LOL!

It may be rude, but don't be fooled, he is a great guy with a big heart. Perhaps he can push the limits of what may not be correct, but it does so only in order to protect those whom he loves.
His change of womanizer to a single girl guy is impressive. Not to mention that it is fair and that when he loves, does so in spite of everything, I want to say he loves his sister. Nan, who is something like... a bad girl.

His skill with words is simply another detail that makes you fall in love, maybe it's not Romeo, but...

"You said everything that i needed to hear. I'm hoocked now. You have me"

I mean, as do not fall in love when he says things like this:

"Listen to me, Balir. If you try to go anywhere I will chase you down, I will become your shadow"

or something more hot...

"Please, what,  baby. Tell me What it is you want?"

but my favorite:

If I still don't have fallen in love with him, let me tell you the detail that made me drool and wish a guy like him. He wrote a song, can you believe it? He wrote a song for Blair. I don't know about you, but i loved that a guy write me a song.  is it not very romantic?

Now, you already know everything! so you vote for the sexy, romantic and wonderful Rush Finlay.

#TeamRush #TeamRush #TeamRush

(Maybe Someday by Colleen Hover)

Howdy y'all!  Alana here from Dark Obsession Chronicles, A Diva a Day, GoodReads, and all-around book pimp.  Not only that, but I live in Austin, TX where my crush from the NA Crush Tourney 2014 -Ridge from  Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover - lives.  Seems fitting that Ridge lives in the live music capital of the world; I'm not just whistling Dixie about his swoon-worthiness, so let me show you why...

One Word: Guitar

Y'all know if a guy can play a guitar, his swoon factor always goes up.  It's a universal 'boy-truth'.  But pair that with the fact that just the sheer fact of Ridge to be able to do that?  *knees grow weak*  I would venture a guess that every modern women has had at least one 'musical' crush at some point.  It's practically encoded into our DNA to melt when a guy plays a guitar.  And boy, oh, boy - the way he plays it!
"I realize he's playing with both hands, one from underneath my head and one over me,  his head is against my chest, and I can heel his hair brush my neck.  He's pretty much sprawled across me in order to reach his guitar with both arms."

I wish I could make a video half has wonderful as this one, and instead of making a mediocre attempt, let's just see Ridge in action in this video created by MollieK featuring music from the book's soundtrack.

That brings me to hot fact #2, not only does Ridge play the guitar, but he writes his own music and lyrics (when not plagued by writer's block.)  OK, now picture, if you will Ridge writing these words, for you...

"But I must confess my interest
The way that you move when you’re in that dress
It’s making me feel like I want to be
The only man that you ever see "
-  I'm in Trouble
"I want to be your end
But you gotta let it begin

So won’t you
Won’t you let it begin
So won’t you
Won’t you just say when"
- Let It Begin

Writing lyrics is a very intimate thing...
"Oh, Lord. What is he about to do?  Put his hands on me?  Does he want to feel me sing this song?  Feeling requires touching, and touching required hands.  His hands.  Feeling me."
Now that you've got another peek at the oh-so-talented Ridge, let's catch another video of my favorite song written by Sydney and Ridge (during Maybe, Someday), performed by the actual writer Griffin Peterson.  This beautiful man is the voice behind the soundtrack, and I think he makes a great Ridge himself (with the obvious main difference).  This song, of all the music from Maybe, Someday, makes me think of Ridge and swoon.

“… holy crap.  He’s beautiful.”
I know, you're saying, "OK, we get it, but what does he look like?  Is he funny?"
He was hot enough to make Sydney gasp, full-on gasp, when she first saw him up close and personal.
"I don't think I've ever seen eyes that can actually speak."  Unruly light brown hair, even the 'whore' thinks Ridge is "hot", his arms "look as if they were built for the sole purpose of carrying a guitar" and he looks "incredible" on stage.  *Sigh*  So, he's not an unattainably famous rock star, but rather a really hot boy-next-door with some serious talent.  He's considerate enough to let you lounge on the bed while he sits on the uncomfortable floor.  Funny?  Considering the long-standing prank war in the apartment, he is ready to create humor at a moment's notice.  Got an ex-boyfriend that needs punishing?  Ridge will show you the merits of duct tape and fish; just don't leave any Sharpie markers lying around in his arm's reach.
“I failed miserably at trying not to fall in love with you."  Me too, Ridge, me too.

To quote Sydney, “Oh, my dear sweet baby Jesus in a wicker basket."

He is the total package here ladies!  Smart, dedicated, loyal, talented, funny, he's one fast texter, and he's a little bit evil.  The evil bit is one of my favorite parts.  There is simply not enough time and space to contain the enormous swoon of Ridge.  He even finally 'gets' us girls...
See how great he is?  There is no doubt you can see!
Won't you say 'When' and Vote for Ridge?

What is NA?

Typically, a novel is considered NA if it encompasses the transition between adolescence—a life stage often depicted in Young Adult (YA) fiction—and true adulthood. Protagonists typically fall between the ages of eighteen and twenty-six, though exceptions may apply. NA characters are often portrayed experiencing: college, living away from home for the first time, military deployment, apprenticeships, a first steady job, a first serious relationship, etc.

Other terms for NA include: Upper YA, Crossover Fiction, and Mature YA.

Mission Statement

As one of the first websites dedicated to New Adult (NA) fiction, NA Alley acts as a central hub for the category—promoting great reads, featuring authors, hosting contests with agents and editors, discussing industry news, and listing relevant resources. We have been quoted by various publications, including USA Today and Book Business Magazine, but our main goal is to encourage the readers and writers who make NA possible.
